Just how popular are these bathroom designs?
Not as popular as you might think.
Let’s break it all down.
Mediterranean bathroom popularity
Out of 1,091,000 bathrooms we analyzed, only 2.02% are in the Mediterranean design. That’s not very many when you consider the most popular design style, being contemporary, makes up 29.5% of bathrooms. See all of our bathroom statistics here.
Beige bathroom popularity
When it comes to bathroom color, we like to report two statistics, which are overall color scheme and wall color.
Let’s start with an overall color scheme. Beige makes up 11.75% of bathrooms.
With respect to the wall color, beige makes up 28% of bathrooms (when the walls are tile).
I’ll throw in another color stat, which is cabinet finish. A beige cabinet finish is found on only 2.76% of bathrooms.
Finally, beige is popular as a bathroom floor color making up 31% of bathrooms.
Going further in the analysis
I don’t think other than how few bathrooms are in the Mediterranean style is surprising, let’s take a look at only Mediterranean style bathrooms.
Our analysis of 5,491 Mediterranean style bathrooms tells us that a whopping 49% have beige wall colors. That’s significantly higher when compared to all bathrooms..l almost double since for all bathrooms beige is the wall color in 28% of bathrooms.
The same result is for floor color. Beige is the overwhelming floor color for Mediterranean bathrooms at 52%.
Is beige a good bathroom color?
This is a personal choice.
Generally, I’m not much of a fan of the Mediterranean style. Moreover, I don’t care for earth tones including beige, especially on walls. I like brown flooring (i.e. hardwood), but other than through the use of wood, I’m not wild about brown.
