Ethnic Charm
A four-poster set against a vibrant artwork is a picture perfect setting. Go for saturation with a single colour. Use a variety of tones and textures to give the room a layered feel. Keep the styling simple and symmetrical. Keep the styling simple and symmetrical, as the bed itself gets to be quite dramatic. The look consists of a tucked coverlet and a folded duvet, a patterened quilt at the foot of the bed, and a mix of Euro pillows and cushions to give a sense of opulence. Don't shy away from mixing patterns. Combine large prints with small ones, florals with geometrics, to enhance the layered look.
"Bring a sense of calm to your bedroom with shades of blue. The colour makes the perfect partner for embellished fabrics, orante furniture and exotic prints."
Regal Aura
Think jewel Lones lush fabrics and plush pillows. That's pretty much the recipe for a supremely luxurious bed. Nothing spells it out better than luscious silk, so we opted for on ornate silk duvet. Be generous with cushions, it instantly heightens the comfort quotient. However if the headboard is intricately handcrafted as the one in the picture, arrange the cushions in such a way that they don't hide the headboard. Let your bed be the focal point of your bedroom; make sure that all other components complement it. For instance, the hairdwood flooring, and bedside table add to the cohesiveness of the look.
"Heritage is the focus here, with antique furniture, vintage quilts and family heirloom. Build on the grandeur with silk furnishings."
Eclectic Style
This look is perfect for those who love colour in their lives and of course, rooms. The vibrant headboard is the inspiration here. Let the colours from the headboard trickle into the cushions. Start with an intense shade as your background colour, then temper the effect with a neutral coloured coverlet. To maintain the balance, refrain from heavy patterns — opt for solid colours instead. Here, the base is a beautiful quilted coverlet, accentuated with a colourful woven throw. Let the styling be streamlined, since the colours are extremely vibrant.
"Be bold — drench your room in colour. A saturated scheme requires some courage, but the effect is so dramatic that it's well worth taking the plunge!"
Sophisticated Cocoon
Pretty up a trnditional bedroom with this romantic take on French country. Use a palette of faded pastels, such as pale role, lavender, mint green. The tufted wall panels provide a very interesting background for the bed and the headboard. The styling may be hard for the more compulsive, but we really love the look of a perfectly "undone" bed. Whether it's the casual drape of the linen duvet or a thrown-together pillow arrangement, the look is effortless, yet chic!

Contemporary Chic
Decorate with black and white for a beautiful bedroom that oozes resort style. Since the use of colours is restricted, experiment with textures, patterns and sizes. Use a mix of Euro pillows and cusions all in the same colour palette. Dress your bed with dark and light elements. Crisp white bed linen and dark patterned cushions and quilts will create a smart and balanced look. Lastly, if you have a tall upholstered headboard, don't forget to place your pillows vertically to break up the large surface area. Soften the look with cream curtains and soft lighting.
