Glamorous, yet restrained, this Parisian apartment is almost paradoxical in its temperament. Designed by Ukranian architect Nika Vorotynstsev, this apartment located in the centre of Paris exudes calm elegance. "The owners wanted an artistic space - they were not hesitant to experiment with colours, graphics and textures. And this gave us the freedom to experiment with vivid colours and stunning graphics," elaborates Nika.
"The dining room with its muted colour palette makes a subtle style statement. Just a hint of drama infused through the astutely-curated accessories and furniture.”

The stunning emerald wall in the living room is eye-catching, and in combination with the striking architectural features, it clearly sets the tone for the entire home - a confident space, which sets its own design benchmark. The extensive use of mirrors and luxe finishes heighten the drama, and the subtle, calming shades of white lend the space a restrained sense of glamour and strikes that perfect balance between elegance and eye-catching radiance.

For this young couple, Nika relied on a distinct design aesthetic, one which at once references the past and peeks into the future. The discreet colour palette in the bedroom, the architectural detailing in the bathroom and the living room exudes classic elegance, while the playful graphics in the powder room and the foyer, the modern lines of the furniture and fixtures are extremely contemporary.

"The curved ceiling in the bathroom and in the hall supports the classic spirit of this apartment," explains the architect. The owners also insisted on effective space management. To create as much space as possible, Nika opted to eliminate all the unwanted partitions and walls, and crammed corners. And the result: quite obviously, a fluid space, where one section literally flows into the other, seamlessly.

The colour palette is varied and vibrant, ranging from stunning emerald to sophisticated grey, to a calming powder blue. And this in combination with classic architectural elements and modern graphics. It's amazing how the entire space still retains a very coherent design language. Quite obviously, this is what sets the space apart.
